New Belgium Brewing and Ben & Jerry’s are Joining Forces to Help us Fight Climate Change
Once again, New Belgium and Ben & Jerry’s have teamed up to create a limited-edition beer flavor, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Ale, to inspire us all to take action against climate change and urge our new administration to include positive climate action on their agenda. The priorities presented in the first 100 days of the presidency often set the tone for the administration, so POW, New Belgium and Ben & Jerry’s are urging that the new administration moves us forward on climate change policy, not backwards. Join us in the fight against climate change, because as we know, beer, ice cream and our winters are best served cold.
There are many ways to take action on climate change, and luckily kicking back with a frosty beer just happens to be one of them. Grab a beer and be an activist with us.
Here’s How: Protect The Paris Agreement
First impressions are everything, so while the new administration settles in and starts to make decisions about the future of our planet, let’s make sure they don’t repeal the historic pieces of climate legislation and agreements already in place.
We don’t have to remind you that by ratifying the Paris Agreement, the world came together and agreed to avoid catastrophic climate change. Seems like a no-brainer to save civilization as we know it, so we’re asking the new administration to stand up for the commitment we made as a nation and to the global community in Paris.
Why Is This So Important?
- We made this agreement with 196 other nations around the globe. The United States emits a disproportionate amount of greenhouse gas emissions per capita, and as global citizens, we have a responsibility to uphold our end of the deal. America is known for its leadership, and the US should absolutely be leading the way towards climate action and clean energy innovation.
- The science is settled: 97% of climate scientists believe that climate change is real and human caused. Climate change transcends party lines. Let’s unite the country by making climate change a nonpartisan issue.
- Without urgent action, warming is predicted to reach unprecedented levels—up to 5 degrees C above current temperatures– a level that would see large swathes of the globe rendered virtually uninhabitable.
- Addressing climate change can’t wait any longer. As Americans, we have made historic steps forward and backing out on our commitments now is not an option.
Let’s convince the new administration that climate change transcends politics.
