Winslow Crane-Murdoch

Winslow Crane-Murdoch is an award winning director, and cinematographer based in Portland, OR. He specializes in documentary directing and verité shooting. He is co-owner of Sideyard Studios with his wife, Cecilia Brown. Their most recent documentary short, Strong Grandma, is currently playing at festivals around the country.
His debut documentary feature, The Quiet Epidemic, had its World Premiere at HotDocs in 2022, as part of their special presentations program. It went on to be accepted into 20+ other festivals around the country, including DocNYC, Woodstock Film Festival, Mill Valley Film Festival, Heartland Film Festival, and Hamptons International Film Festival. The film was awarded “Best Documentary” at the Adirondack Film Festival, Macon Film Festival, and DocUTAH, as well as receiving the Excellence in Directing award by NYWIFT at the ReelAbilities Film Festival. The film is distributed by First Run Features, and is now available On Demand.
Since graduating from Connecticut College in 2013 where he studied film, his work has taken him across the country and overseas. He made a multimedia project about student loan debt, hiked and filmed a 3,000 km walk across New Zealand for Outside Television and has shot and directed for large brands and political campaigns.
