Protect The Endangerment Finding
Protect The Endangerment Finding
Earlier this month, the EPA proposed revoking the Endangerment Finding, the science-backed determination that greenhouse gases harm public health and the legal foundation for limiting climate pollution. This move would strip the agency’s authority to regulate emissions and unravel critical protections for clean air, water, and a stable climate.
EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin called the rollback a “dagger into the heart of the climate change religion.” But its impact will hit all of us, especially frontline and outdoor communities already facing extreme heat, floods, fires, and toxic air.
If this rollback succeeds, it would set the U.S. back decades in the fight for clean air, clean water, and a livable climate. The consequences would be immediate and far-reaching:
- The Endangerment Finding is what gives the EPA legal authority to regulate GHGs.
- Rescinding it would undo all vehicle emissions standards and jeopardize all current and future climate protections.
- It would severely weaken national efforts to fight climate change and protect public health, particularly for outdoor communities breathing in wildfire smoke and urban smog.
We need every skier, climber, angler, and outdoor lover to stand up with us. Tell the EPA it must follow science and honor its mission: to protect human health and the environment.
Here’s how:
Join POW at the virtual EPA public hearing on August 19–20. Overwhelming public opposition is the only thing that can stop this. If you choose to testify, you’ll have three minutes to speak.
To register:
Email [email protected]
Subject line: “Testify” or “Attend” + Docket ID No. EPA-HQ-OAR-2025-0194
Deadline to pre-register and testify: August 12
If you wish to attend and not testify, you can register until August 19.
Can’t make it? Stay tuned for more ways to engage during this critical period.
Clean air, clean water, and a healthy planet for future generations should not be up for debate. Thank you for standing with us and choosing action over apathy.
