Anna Gibson

Runner

Anna Gibson was born and raised in Jackson, Wyoming. What is now considered her “training” began simply as time in the mountains with her family and friends, doing what she loved.

Throughout high school, Anna was a competitive runner and nordic ski racer. Her ski racing career culminated with an individual title at the cross-country skiing Junior National Championships in 2017, but she went on to pursue running at Brown University. After transferring to the University of Washington, she competed in the Pac-12 while earning first an undergraduate degree in Terrestrial Resource Management, and most recently, a Masters of Jurisprudence in Environmental Law. While competing for the Dawgs, she anchored her team’s Distance Medley Relay to a new NCAA record. Against the norm, Anna balanced her college running career against summers spent competing in trail running and exploring on her bike, as well as winters spent skinning up mountains.

Anna now competes in track/road and trail events as a pro for Brooks, but still prioritizes her other outdoor pursuits. Alongside her athletic career, she works part-time as Director of Grassroots Advocacy for the Teton Backcountry Alliance, and does some freelance copyediting.
