POW’s All in on Local Advocacy

We’re at home on the river and hosting advocacy events. We’re psyched on adrenaline sports and writing letters to the editor. We spend our Fridays at ski film premieres and our Tuesdays at town council meetings. We understand that to protect one, we have to show up for the other — and now there’s a place to do both.

Introducing POW’s Chapter Program:

POW Chapters are our grassroots organizing network, connecting mountain and coastal communities to local and state advocacy opportunities year-round. Protect Our Winters organizes around three primary campaign pillars, and its chapters are key to getting wins on the board!

Protect What We Love

Limiting the sale and oil and gas extraction on our public lands

Build What We Need

Supporting clean energy projects and accelerating deployment

Shift  Who Decides

Supporting voter turnout at the polls during election seasons

From Our Community:

I’m stoked to volunteer with the POW Reno chapter! Spending time outdoors has been instrumental in shaping who I am, and it’s important to me to give back to the places that have given me so much. I love learning about and getting involved with local projects that support clean energy and protect the lands we recreate on. Volunteering with POW has helped me feel more connected to my local community of like-minded people passionate about protecting the places we care so deeply about. Would highly recommend joining!
