Eeland Stribling

Angler

Eeland Stribling is an angler, educator, wildlife biologist and stand-up comedian born and raised in Denver, Colorado. Though his family grew up poor, his mom found a way to get him on the slopes, where he joined the Winter Park snowboard team and fell in love with winter. His first love.

Eeland’s grandfather, also a wildlife biologist, sparked his passion for conservation early on. When no one else in his family was outdoorsy, Eeland forged his own path to the water. He learned fly fishing backwards. He started by tying flies first in college, then heading to local waterways to see if his creations would actually catch trout and carp. With a degree in Fish, Wildlife and Conservation Biology under his belt, this unconventional start reflects how he approaches conservation: making it accessible no matter where you come from.

His fly fishing has taken him around the world, From Belize to South Africa to Chile to Germany, where he’s witnessed how water connects every community and ecosystem. Now, as the East Slope Angler for the Colorado Wildlife Council, Eeland advocates for the watersheds that are habitat for fish and critical to our health. The same waters threatened by climate change that POW fights to protect.

Through the Brown Folks Fishing Family, Eeland organized free community events that get families, kids, and people of color on the water learning to fly fish. From comedy stages to Capitol Hill to remote fishing spots, Eeland combines humor, science, and storytelling to make conservation real and relatable for everyone.

Eeland is graciously sponsored by Chums, Tincup Whiskey, Mary Mountain Cookies, and Duck Camp.
