Kjersti Mortiz

Alpine Skier

Kjersti Moritz has been an Alpine skier for the US Ski Team since 2021. She grew up in Vail, Colorado, where she spent her time skiing, playing soccer, hiking, biking, and exploring the mountains around her. She is currently a student at Middlebury College in Vermont, where she is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Policy. In addition to her studies, she competes at the NCAA level in both alpine skiing and soccer.

Since she was young, Kjersti has had a deep love for the outdoors, nature, wildlife, and the places that make our planet so fascinating. That connection—through both her personal interests and her sport of ski racing—is a big part of why she is so passionate about protecting it.

Traveling the world for competition has made the effects of climate change impossible to ignore. Snow and glaciers are visibly thinning each year, and her concern extends well beyond the slopes. With a growing interest in marine and wildlife biology, she has come to understand just how many ecosystems and species are at stake. Kjersti is excited to join the POW Alliance and help spread a message she cares so deeply about.
