Lynne Zummo

Professor

Dr. Lynne Zummo is an Assistant Professor of Learning Sciences at the University of Utah and holds a joint appointment as the Curator of Learning Sciences at the Natural History Museum of Utah (NHMU). Working in museum galleries, K-12 classrooms, outdoor spaces, and beyond, she studies how people learn about and come to understand the changing climate. Building on this research, Lynne aims to design experiences that support learners from a wide range of backgrounds in drawing on science to make sense of pressing social issues and to participate civically in issues that matter to them. Before becoming a researcher, Lynne taught 9th-grade Earth Sciences in Washington, DC.
