Grid Transmission Scientist
Dr. Becca Fuchs works in Grid Transmission and Planning at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory. She has a background in Arctic climate science, and a PhD in sea ice geophysics. She has traveled to various places in the high Arctic for sea ice fieldwork. She has spent 12 years abroad in Germany, England and Canada, and 3 years in Alaska for her PhD. Although she has been an Arctic climate scientist for years, she wanted to make more of a practical impact in solving the climate crisis and now decided to switch into renewable energy work. Becca is an ultrarunner, swimmer, and horseback rider.
